MARAE BOOKING TERMS & CONDITIONS

Booking Terms & Conditions for Nga Tai Whakarongorua Marae
Effective April 2025. These terms are subject to change without prior notice.

Nga Tai Whakarongorua Marae

(Te Komiti Z2B)

 

CONDITIONS OF HIRE

 

  • Tangihanga has priority and hireage is done so on this basis.

  • ALCOHOL, DRUGS and GAMBLING ARE STRICTLY PROHIBITED.

  • SMOKING & VAPING in designated area only - Inside shed beside wharekai

  • No livestreaming\filming\recording (video) in the wharenui.

  • Hirers are responsible for any damages i.e. costs of repair and/or replacement Damage to buildings or grounds, property - e.g. mattresses, crockery, chairs

  • Animals are not permitted at the marae – except the use of guide dogs

 

RATES

  • Day - 12 hours: $ 200.00

  • Half day - 6 hours: $ 150.00

  • Overnight - 7am to 11am next day: $ 250.00

  • [All prices quoted inclusive of GST]

 

  • Gas usage is charged @ $12 per day

  • Power usage is charged @ $.045 per unit

  • Laundry is an additional charge and is not included in rates. These are currently charged at: 

    • Sheets used @ $7.00 each

    • Pillowcases used @ $2.80 each

    • Teatowels used @ $3.00 each

 

  • Koha is gratefully accepted - as a gift, separate to the hireage costs.

  • All payments should be made to: Nga Tai Whakarongorua Marae

  • Deposit Account: ANZ  11-5000-0731084-11

  • A receipt will be issued

WHARE NUI - 'Kia whanau hou koutou'

  • Care of mattresses and pillows, and linen. Please discourage walking on mattresses and sitting on pillows

  • No food, drinks or chewing gum (water in bottles\drink containers are allowed)

  • No smoking or vaping

  • Wharenui to be aired and tidy daily

  • Place rubbish in bin

WHARE KAI - 'Te Whai Oranga'

  • Place rubbish in bins / bags

  • Tea towels are for drying dishes only

  • Store food appropriately – to avoid vermin

  • Keep clean and tidy

  • Please do not light fires

WHARE PAKU

  • Keep these areas clean and tidy at all times

  • Please wrap nappies and sanitary pads and place in rubbish bin

GROUNDS

  • Keep clear of rubbish at all times

  • Driving or parking on the marae atea and in front of wharekai is not permitted – except under special circumstances i.e. Emergency vehicles - ambulance, fire service

 

EMERGENCY PLAN

  • Dial 111

  • Familiarise all present with emergency plan

- Placement of Fire Extinguishers

- Location of Water Hose

- First Aid kit location

AT THE CONCLUSION OF YOUR STAY:

 

Wharenui

  • Mattresses and pillows to be stacked neatly in mattress room

  • Stack chairs 4 high, facing wall

  • Place linen (sheets / pillow cases) in laundry bags. Hirers ensure laundry is washed, dried, folded and returned within 1 week of hirage end

  • Wipe window sills

  • Vacuum wharenui – vacuum kept in mattress room

 

Wharekai

  • All dishes to be washed, dried and packed away

  • Dispose of all rubbish appropriately off-site

  • No food to be left in whare kai

  • All kitchen surfaces and dining tables to be wiped clean

  • Empty fridge and wipe clean. Turn off at wall

  • Ensure stove and oven are off - turn gas off

  • Turn off all power points in wharekai

  • Sweep and mop all floor areas - mop / bucket to be clean and left on back deck to dry

  • Chiller to be emptied and clean

  • Telephone located in Whare kai is for Emergency calls and local calls

 

Wharepaku

 Please keep these areas clean and tidy at all times

  • Disinfect toilet bowls / urinals and clean with toilet brush - Please leave brush clean

  • Wipe shower stalls clean and disinfect

  • Wipe and clean all surfaces

  • Remove soap scraps and left items from shower stalls

  • Dispose of rubbish appropriately - off site

 

Grounds

  •  Please keep clean of rubbish at all times - No cigarette butts

  • Sweep marae atea and all pathways

We are undertaking a marae history project to preserve and share the story of our marae.

 

We warmly welcome whānau to contribute their memories, stories, and photos as

we gather and compile historical materials.
